Effective July 4, 2026 · walkie-talkie.video and the Walkie-Talkie app
In our own words: what we sent the lawyer

Walkie-Talkie exists so two people can stay close. That only works if you can be completely yourself on camera, so privacy isn't a feature we bolted on; it's the product. Here's the deal, plainly:

  • Your videos are for two people. Every Check-In goes to the one person you sent it to. No feed, no public profiles, no audience. There isn't even a “watch videos” button on our side: playback only happens through signed links that expire, minted for exactly the two of you.
  • Your data is not for sale. Not your videos, not your email, not your relationships, not your attention. There are no ads, so there is nothing to target.
  • We collect the minimum. An email to send your invite, an account to deliver your videos, and enough anonymous usage data to know if the app is broken.
  • Videos are encrypted in transit and at rest, and old ones are deleted when they roll off your plan's storage.
  • You can leave with everything. Ask and we'll export or delete what we have about you. No dark patterns on the way out.

Everything below is the same promise, written so it holds up formally.

What the lawyer sent back (and what you're agreeing to)

1. Who we are

Walkie-Talkie is operated by SpaghettiSoft, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“Walkie-Talkie,” “we,” “us”), through the walkie-talkie.video website and the Walkie-Talkie mobile application (together, the “Service”). For anything in this policy, contact hello@walkie-talkie.video.

2. Information we collect

  • Waitlist information. If you join the waitlist: your email address and which phone platform you use.
  • Account information. When you create an account: your name, email address, and authentication details.
  • Your content. The video Check-Ins you record and send, and reactions you add to them. Content is stored so it can be delivered to, and replayed by, the one person in that Connection.
  • Usage and device data. Basic technical information (device type, OS version, app version, crash logs) and anonymized analytics about how the Service is used. We do not use advertising trackers.

3. How we use it

Only to run the Service: delivering your videos to your Connections, sending invites and service emails (an invite when it's your turn, receipts, security notices, not marketing blasts), providing support, keeping the Service secure, and understanding aggregate usage so we can fix and improve things.

4. What we never do

  • We do not sell or rent your personal information or your content. To anyone. Ever.
  • We do not show ads or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
  • We do not make your videos visible to anyone beyond the two people in a Connection, except as described in section 6.

5. Your videos, specifically

Videos are encrypted in transit and at rest, and playback is locked behind signed links that expire. Our servers mint those links only for the two people in a Connection, at the moment of watching. There is no admin screen that plays videos, and even our storage provider's own console refuses to play them. We designed away our own casual access on purpose.

We'll be precise rather than dramatic: Walkie-Talkie is not end-to-end encrypted, so with deliberate engineering effort a service like ours could produce access to stored video. Our promise is that this never happens, with three narrow exceptions: you explicitly ask us to look at something (support), we receive valid legal process, or we have a good-faith reason to believe it is necessary to address abuse, an imminent safety risk, or violations of our Terms. Videos that roll off your plan's storage limit are permanently deleted from our systems.

6. Service providers and disclosures

We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the Service: cloud hosting, video storage and streaming, databases, email delivery, and privacy-respecting analytics. They process data only on our instructions, under contracts that bind them to protect it, and only as needed to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a merger or acquisition (in which case this policy's promises follow the data, and we'll tell you).

7. Retention

Videos are kept according to your plan's storage limits and deleted when they roll off. Account data is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information and content within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep something longer. Waitlist emails are deleted once the beta period ends or on request.

8. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information by emailing hello@walkie-talkie.video. If you are in the EU/EEA, UK, California, or another region with privacy laws, you may have additional statutory rights (including objection, restriction, and the right to complain to your local authority). We honor those too, and we will never discriminate against you for exercising them.

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards: encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and the principle that the fewer people who can touch your data, the better. No system is perfectly secure, so if a breach affects you, we will notify you as required by law, and frankly because you'd want to know.

11. Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for meaningful changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. We will never quietly weaken the promises in the plain-words section.

12. Contact

hello@walkie-talkie.video. A human reads it.
